Every year we raise funds for the community. Since 2021 we have donated to local children’s hospices, donated to groups in Winklebury and both Schools, as well as providing 4 AEDs, and 10 beautifully painted public benches.
Since 2021 we have raised money for the local community by holding a Memorial Football Match to honour and celebrate the lives of the people who truly were the Winklebury Legends.
The journey of Winklebury is a testament to the resilience and spirit of its community. Long before the many roads we see today, Winklebury was a quiet expanse of small holdings and pig farms, a place of simplicity and tranquility. Yet, the winds of change blew through, transforming this humble area into a vital refuge for those seeking a new beginning post-World War II.

In 2020 our Founder, Cathy Nash’s husband George passed away. 10 days later his friend of nearly 60 years Freddie Elgar also passed away. Neither could have a proper funeral as we were in the middle of lockdown due to the pandemic. So when restrictions were lifted a football match was played in their honour – and the rest as they say is history.
